The Xmas party saw 28 TVRCC members attending another great evening organised this time by Linda and James. Not much opportunity for a drive out later as the weather did not clear for members to take their P&Js out for the evening and following day.

The Whitby run turned out to be the best ever, with a surprise for all the lads from the ladies. The organisation by Trevor and Sam was as usual immaculate and the icing on the cake was the Xmas presents. It was great to see and hear (by phone)the giving

Blackpool Lights and a total of 5 cars enjoyed a trip through the Lakes to see Blackpool's finest. Afternoon teas, fish and chips, the lights and a drive home - what more could anyone want. There was a sinister black car lurking there somewhere!

This has always been a great event and this year parking has been arranged at £5 per car - just register your interest as spaces are limited. Start from Longtown at around 10:00, to reach Alston at 10:40. The alternative meeting point will be Penrith at around 10:00 to reach Alston at 10:40 and join the rest of the group. Travel to Whitby via Middleton-in-Teesdale, Barnard Castle and other interesting places with a coffee stop to arrive at Whitby around 15:30. Couple of hours looking round, fish and chips and then return home at around 19:30. If the weather is lousy, then a 'mystery tour' is planned for 'ordinary cars' and others to save getting the TVR wet. Check with Colin around Thursday 27th. |

| 11/12/2010 | 17:00 | Christmas evening | North Cumbria Christmas Evening. This event will take place on December 11 at Leeming House Hotel located on the shores of Ullswater near Penrith. The evening will consist of a private formal (preferably Black Tie) dinner. All are invited to the evening, there being no requirement to be a member of TVRCC or the Region. Negotiations with the hotel have resulted in the following being the cost options; 1. Meal only. This will be available at £28 per person. Dinner Bed and Breakfast paid up front at £149 per couple. Dinner Bed and Breakfast pay on departure at £166 per couple. Single Dinner Bed and Breakfast at £134. The rates are a 10% discount over their normal rates which also only allow £28 per person for dinner. Our rate does not have that limit. The private room for dining can take up to 30 people in a 'boardroom' configuration, but we can move into the main dining room if we got more than 30 people. Ten (10) rooms have been reserved for one month (until 9 October). Extra rooms are available, but may be sold by the hotel unless we get the 10 rooms booked and require more. To book your place you need to phone the hotel group on 01539-487890, option 2 and say you are booking one of the TVRCC rooms. You then have to decide whether to pay up front (£149 immediately) or on departure (£166 on 12 December). Your menu choices will need to be given to the hotel shortly before the evening. More details on the menu will be given later. If you just want to come for the meal, then get in touch with me and I will book you in. Payment will be on leaving the hotel after the meal on 11 December. |

The hotel has yet to be decided, but depends on numbers. The drive there is apparently special as will be the trip back through Glenshee and the Borders. Arrival back home will depend on how good is the weather, the company and if we get lost. All places now taken. |
